The New Theater in Emden was opened in 1970. Its role as the cultural center of the region is reflected in the diverse program that ranges from drama to opera and from concerts to congresses. It also hosts the Emden-Norderney International Film Festival. The beautiful auditorium seats 680 people.

All stage systems have been updated to provide the necessary flexibility for a modern receiving house reception building.
